Experience

2023 - Today Scrum Master F&P GmbH, Leipzig

F&P operates the JOYclub, one of the most used online portals in Germany, with over 4 million unique users. They just launched their own online streaming platform JOYcinema in late fall 2023. As a Scrum Master it was my responsibility to lead the whole organisation into agile self-organisation. I supported the development teams and created the needed environment. With trainings and continuously reflecting actions within the teams I taught the agile mindset and push the agile transformation.

2021 - 2023 Agile Coach powercloud GmbH, Leipzig

powercloud handles the processing and billing of electricity, gas, heat and water for over 10 million end customers. I have started as a Scrum Master in 2021 and got promoted to an Agile Coach in 2022. As a Scrum Master it was my responsibility to lead the whole organisation into agile self-organisation. I supported the Scrum- and Kanban development teams and therefore create the needed environment. With trainings and continuously reflecting actions within the teams I taught the agile mindset and push the agile transformation. With my transition to an Agile Coach within powercloud I have shifted my focus from the development teams to more overarching processes and other teams, such as consulting or sales. I also kept supporting development teams as an Agile Coach. Some customers of the powercloud GmbH are E.On, EnBw and EWE.

2018 - 2020 Project manager & Teamlead Appsfactory GmbH, Leipzig

Appsfactory is one of the fastest growing mobile agencies specialized in the development of apps. Since launching in October 2009 the company realized over 600 software projects for more than 30 clients. At Appsfactory I was responsible for a team of 12 employees, including iOS-, Android- and .net developers, quality consultants and UX/UI-designers and already worked for various clients such as Daimler, Vattenfall, Vonovia, Flaschenpost or Beurer.

2013 - 2018 Founder & Chief Executive Officer Die Coder GmbH, Leer

The "Die Coder GmbH" was developing individual business-, mobile- and web-based applications to optimize and display internal business processes on mobile devices. Software from Die Coder is used by multinational corporations within the car- and tire industries and textile retail trade companies among others. As founder I started on developing these applications on my own, but got into the human resources, product- and project management as the company grew. I left the company on my own wish in 2018 and sold my shares to my cofounder, who later merged with WW Consulting GmbH and closed the company.

2012 - 2013 PHP Developer neusta destination solutions GmbH, Bremen

The agency called itself "Internetagency for touristic solutions". With my experience within the accommodation search of BestFewo I worked at an own product for touristic destinations, which can seemlessly be placed within their websites. With this product vistors were able to book a hotel or holiday flat directly at the destinations website. neusta and BestSearch Media companies were partners at this time.

2010 - 2012 PHP Developer BestSearchMedia GmbH, Potsdam

BestSearch Media is the operator of BestFewo.de, the biggest german website for holiday flats. I worked at the development of the search-algorithm and the API with the flat-administration. I was in charge of the API, which runs data imports fully automatic twenty-four-seven. I took care of the core development of the company-own framework and managed the set-up of new APIs with partners. I also created concepts and developed further automation of technical processes.

2006 - 2013 Freelancer Internetprojekte markus.gubitz, Leer

Even before my training I created and maintained some webpages and web-applications on a freelance basis. Most of my clients were migrated into Die Coder GmbH as it was founded in 2013.

myHighlights

Vattenfall Europe Sales GmbH, Hamburg

The Swedish corporation is one of the biggest energy utility companies in Germany, with over 3.5 million customers. Vattenfall started a customer binding program where their customers can use vouchers from different partner companies all over Germany. The MyHighlights application is bringing this customer binding program to the mobile device of the customer. The user can log in with their personal Vattenfall account and thereby can access all the different vouchers and offers, which change every month. Also, the user can access their contract information and submit new counter reading with an augmented reality scanner as they just need to place the camera in front of the meter and the app will identify the needed values by itself. I was in charge of the partner-management, including planning new APIs to their systems and coordinating the whole application development, updates and SCRUM workflow. As the Hamburg office of Appsfactory grew, the project was handed over to a Hamburg based colleague.

eCommerce App

Flaschenpost SE, Münster

Flaschenpost is one of the biggest delivery service companies for beverages and drinks, with over 5.000 employees. Their USP is an instant delivery within 120 minutes in a delivery area covering over 7.500 square kilometers. Their product range is mostly covering drinks, but was recently expanded to food in selected cities. The app is capable of browsing through the whole product range, ordering all the different goods and tracking the delivery, including a live-view of the delivery until it arrives at the customers door. The app is held responsible for around 65% of all orders within the company, generating a seven-digit turnover every week with is increasing constantly. I was in charge of building the app from scratch, including concepts, the whole application development, updates and maintaining the SCRUM workflow. Currently I am still working as a project manager for this project.

Mein Vonovia

Vonovia SE, Bochum

With around 400.000 flats in around 400 different cities in Germany Vonovia is one of the biggest companies in that field and therefore needed to optimize their support management. With the "Mein Vonovia" app the tenant is now able to file support requests directly on their phone with a chat-like interface. The user can request documents, or report some issues, while they can take pictures within the app directly which are then directly reported to the responsible parties. In some cases, the user can also make an appointment for the repair with the technician within the app. Also, the tenant can access their contract data and change their advance payment of additional costs. I was in charge of building the app from scratch, including concepts and design, the whole application development, updates and maintaining the project planning (agile-styled waterfall). Currently I am still working as a project manager for this project.

Incentive calculator

International car manufacturer, Germany

I have coordinated the relaunch of an existing solution for the distribution of various sales bonuses for an international automotive group from northern Germany. The previously used third-party application was no longer able to handle the increased volume of data, as all sales figures from all connected contract-partners were used for the algorithm, resulting in millions of datasets. Every year a higher eight-digit euro amount was paid in bonuses, based on the calculations of this application. I was in charge of building the app from scratch, including a technical analysis of the old software, the whole application development, updates and maintaining the SCRUM workflow.

happyscan

WW Consulting, Villingen-Schwenningen

happyscan is a mobile device for data capturing. The system contains a Linea Pro barcode scanner with an iPod touch and a server application for data aggregation and exporting the data to over ten different ERP systems, mostly for textile retailers. happyscan was sold as a new device, with the iPod configured over an MDM environment. With an happyscan-scanner the user was able to do inventories, price changes (including printing new price tags on a mobile printer), stock transfers or return deliveries. It is much more convenient to the user compared to regular devices due to the iOS interfaces, with the same speed, as it uses the laser scanner for scanning dozens of different barcodes. I wrote the first iOS application, API and exporter myself. Later I was in charge of the concept, coordinating the application updates and maintaining the SCRUM workflow.

Project scope

Everything was done from scratch in this project. At first we did some market research with the client and supervised some inventories to identify common problems and usecases before starting the development.

Project result

happyscan was sold as a product of WW Consulting with a three times higher profitability than any other inventory-device within the company. And was used by various international clients in the fashion retail market.

Unitymedia Messenger

Unitymedia GmbH, Cologne

Unitymedia was a German cable network operator from Cologne, with around 7.1 million customers. To reduce the amount of calls in their call centers, Unitymedia wanted a new way of interaction with their customers. We came up with a chat-styled interface, which was able to handle multiple service requests, such as reporting an incident, activating tv smart-cards or even sending invoices to the customer. Everything was handled through a chat interface, in which the customer could tell the system their concerns. The system then parsed the message and answered with different bot-systems or handed over the message to a human operator if the system was not able to help the customer by itself. I was in charge of building the app from scratch, including concepts and design, the whole application development, updates and maintaining the SCRUM workflow. The project was discontinued as Unitymedia was bought by Vodafone in late 2019.

Route-tracking App

International security contractor, Germany

For an internationally active security service, we have implemented a route monitoring system based on QR codes. The security service must submit a daily log of the monitored areas to their clients, which have to include various tests on location (e.g. control of the doors). For this purpose, QR codes were attached to the respective checkpoints, which can be read by an individually programmed app. By scanning the QR code, the GPS position of the mobile phone is checked and a plausibility check of the data (e.g. speed between the locations) is performed. With this solution, the customer receives a live log that can be presented to their client. I was in charge for the technical project management and checked the concepts created by the customer for feasibility. I also actively helped develop the first version of the Android app. Later I was in charge of the concept, coordinating the application updates and maintaining the SCRUM workflow.

Retail analysis Software

Multiple international car & tire manufacturers

For a client in Santa Barbara, California, we took over the project management for the further development of the "price monitor". Within this system, several million data records with prices and stocks for tires and rims are read out, assigned, standardized and processed from dozens of sources completely autonomous every day. The processing had to identify special offers or error fares with some AI routines as they should not be treated equally to the regular prices. The resulting tables are made available to the controlling departments of various international groups in the automotive and tire industries all over the world. I took over the product management for the entire product and planned and monitored the further development using SCRUM.

Logistics Hub app

Textilhäuser F. Klingenthal GmbH, Paderborn

Klingenthal is a fashion retailer, founded in 1874 in Salzkotten, Germany. We digitalized various activities in the company's own logistics center (daily turnover in seven-digit goods value) by using the happyscan devices. Within the customized application the user was able to attach a digital storage position to the printed delivery note, allowing the management to analyze processing times and monitoring the completeness of a delivery. I have created the product concept according to the customers specifications, with a full day internship within their logistics center to get an overview of the various steps. I actively helped to develop the first version of the iOS app. The respective project status was presented at various customer meetings and finally the employees were trained at the handover. Later I was in charge of the concept, coordinating the application updates and maintaining the SCRUM workflow.

Stock monitoring app

Böckmann Zentralverwaltungs GmbH & Co. KG

Böckmann Modehäuser is a fashion retailer with stores in ten different cities in northern Germany and a 100 year history. We developed an app that connects directly to the database of the customer's textile merchandise management system in read-only access and displays information on stock levels in various stores as well as characteristics on happyscan devices. A special challenge was the reverse engineering of the database, because the used merchandise management system did not provide any API or database documentation. I did the analysis of the database myself and supervised the implementation of the project in compliance with the respective milestones using the SCRUM workflow.
